Cara Sur, Pergolas Blancas 2022

Cara Sur is a collaborative project among some of Argentina's best natural winemakers. Their aim is to resurrect vineyards of heritage Argentinean grape varieties and make the most authentic & expressive wines from them. The Pergolas range is made from grapes sourced from different vineyards in the Calingasta Valley and are a nod to traditional peasant wines. Pergolas Blancas 2022 is made from a blend of almost 100% Torrontés (with some Sanjuanino and Mendocino), taken from old pergola vines planted between 1920-1970 at altitudes upwards of 1600m. The grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with a smidge of skin contact and aged in concrete. Very fresh, this is a tasty, stony and mineral white with fruity notes of citrus, passion fruit and pineapple. A great wine to pair with curries.
